Noble Numbat: The Next Generation of Lubuntu
Simon Quigley writes that the Lubuntu Team has been "hard at work" on the upcoming Lubuntu 24.04 LTS release. This detailed post lists some of the changes, which includes why the team uses Calamares, and what will be seen by users using the installer with 24.04 (when released or now on dailies; including an option 'without snapd'). The new installer prompt, sddm configuration editor, and more are covered, including many screenshots. Plans for 24.10 and later are also covered (Wayland and Qt6), along with a list of recent links of Lubuntu in media.
